Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, is a modernist city known for its unique architecture, designed by famed architect Oscar Niemeyer. Built in the 1950s, Brasília was constructed to symbolize the country’s future and development, with wide avenues, futuristic buildings, and an innovative layout. It stands as a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated for its avant-garde architecture and urban planning. The city is also the center of Brazil's government and political life, making it an essential destination for those interested in Brazil’s political history and contemporary culture.

Top 5 Places to Visit in Brasília:

  • Congresso Nacional (National Congress) – The seat of Brazil’s federal government, this iconic building features two large domes and a pair of towers. It’s a symbol of modernist architecture and an important political landmark in Brasília.

  • Catedral Metropolitana de Brasília – This striking cathedral, also designed by Oscar Niemeyer, features 16 curved columns that represent hands reaching toward the sky. It’s one of Brasília’s most famous and visually unique buildings.

  • Palácio da Alvorada (Palace of Dawn) – The official residence of the President of Brazil, this sleek, modern palace sits on the shores of Lake Paranoá. You can view the palace from the outside and admire its beautiful minimalist design.

  • Parque da Cidade (City Park) – One of the largest urban parks in the world, this green space is perfect for a relaxing day out. It offers walking paths, lakes, sports facilities, and recreational areas for all ages.

Another fabulous trip!
Rey has booked several domestic and international trips for me over the years. Each time the experience was fantastic. Rey is not only a knowledgeable and experienced travel agent, he is patient with groups and always provides stellar customer service. The resorts are always fabulous and his recommendations on what to do when we arrive at our destinations make my vacations more enjoyable. I’ve counted on Rey to book fabulous vacations for over 10 years and he always delivers the best. I’ve always enjoyed the individual attention and care Rey provides his clients. He understands the apprehension that comes along with trying new places and is thorough and accommodating as a result. He’s also great at making suggestions on future vacations and I’ve never been disappointed when I follow his suggestions. Rey will remain my travel confidante for many years to come. He’s the best, hands down!
