Family Disney Vacation

This year has brought us many different types of experiences, especially when it comes to travel. Many people have decided to stay put this year, while others choose to get out a little. I will say that for the first six months my family and I stayed at home; but after months of virtual school, virtual meetings, virtual play dates, etc. we needed a brain break.

After much research and calls we decided to book a trip to Walt Disney World. I loaded a suitcase full of masks, face shields, wipes, sanitizer and boarded the plane with my children. I was a little uncertain as to how it would all work, but Disney gave A+ service. I want to applaud Disney for its safe thorough daily operation methods. These safe methods included:

  • Hand washing stations

  • Sanitizing dispensers before/after each ride

  • Mobile food ordering to reduce food lines

  • Social distancing in ride lines

  • Dedicated employees that would remind you to wear your mask properly

  • Limited number of guests in the parks

  • Constant park cleaning (restrooms, rides, surfaces, etc.)

At times I felt safer at Disney World than other public places that don't have strict guidelines for health and safety.

We had a great time as we got to experience each park, ride every open attraction, and we even got to see Mickey Mouse in a few parades. Yes, the shows were closed and you couldn't touch the characters; but Disney still managed to make our visit feel magical. Almost every employee we encountered were grateful for us visiting the park and thanked us coming under the current circumstances.
